| The 9/16" ARP head studs we've been using successfully are much stronger than the stock sized L-19s because of a massive increase in the cross sectional area.
More pics ARP tells us we could put up to around 230 ft-lbs on them, although of course you would never want to go anywhere near that high for several obvious reasons. They are fairly inexpensive but do require a few hundred dollars of extra machining. We've had our machine shop put together a fixture to drill and tap the blocks and have done 5 so far. The stock sized L-19s give you about 30% more clamping force which is not enough to make me feel comfortable on a 1000+ rwhp Z32. The 9/16" studs are overkill and more than double this capacity. We intend on having some L-19 heads studs produced considering the price isn't really that unreasonable and the extra machining isn't needed. However we would not recommend them for applications over 1100 RWHP (which there are obviously very few of). As Bryan mentioned we've had L-19 main studs in production for several weeks now. Unfortunately we are unable to go with a larger stud for this application and the L-19 is the only practical solution.
